To Vaccinate or Not to Vaccinate?

That is the question.

I am often asked this question. Should we vaccinate our children?

My answer is, “The decision is yours to make. Inform thyself.  All the information is out there to make an informed, intelligence-based NOT eminence-based decision.” Informed consent should be the pros and cons, then, making a choice.

To vaccinate or not to vaccinate is not to be taken lightly as it is an in-depth weighted dilemma.  It is, and should always remain so, a personal choice on how we live our life. Living a life of prevention through a healthy, educated lifestyle or prevention by souping up our blood with antigens of dead bacteria and viruses, heavy metals, formaldehydes, preservatives and other chemicals that our immune system create antibodies to and our body must contend to, is the decision at hand.

It is very important to make an informed consent to or not to vaccinate based on logical deduction. It is important to weed out shame, peer-pressure, flock mentality and make a decision based on sound logic and principles. Vaccinations are set up on a belief system. There is no evidence to prove their efficacy. No doctor will guarantee their efficacy because of liability. No corporation will stand behind a statement of efficacy for liability reasons as well. The FDA does not hold the vaccine manufacturers or  the injectors/doctors, or hospitals accountable in cases of adverse short and long term reactions to vaccination.  The financial and emotional short and/or long term risks taken are on the hands of the parent/s.

We as a society are bombarded with propaganda touting the pros of vaccination which one doesn’t have to go far to find. I have provided some links that help to balance the table.

The demographics (link below) show that unvaccinated children come from higher educated and wealthier families.  Decisions to not vaccinate are not made flippantly as would public/media/propaganda opinion would like to make it seem so.

Why Doctors Keep Doing Treatments That Don’t Work

Editor’s Note:

Joseph Smith, MD, PhD, Chief Medical and Science Officer for West Wireless Health Institute in La Jolla, California, was interviewed by Gary Wolf, a contributing editor at Wired magazine, at a panel discussion in San Diego called “Quantified Self and the Future of Personal Health.” The panel also included Eric J. Topol, MD, Director of the Scripps Translational Science Institute and Chief Academic Officer for Scripps Health, and Larry Smarr, founding Director of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology. The following is a transcript of the discussion with Dr. Smith.

” You have talked rather generously about evidence-based medicine. Most of medicine isn’t evidence-based. The overwhelming majority is more “eminence-based,” to steal from my colleague to the right [Eric Topol]. We do things because we have always done them. That is going to be less tenable, and you will be put under more and more scrutiny about “Why is that? Why is this happening to me?” or “Why, doctor, are you doing that as opposed to this?” You peel back the level that says, “Well, actually, there isn’t any evidence to support that. That was merely my historical preference as opposed to my data-driven wisdom and decision-making.” That will put pressure on what we do and will ask us to answer some of the questions about dominant practices that are founded largely by history.”
